A Netherland Christmas

This Christmas we had a new tradition of Christmas introduced to the students by a new student and her mother who are from Holland.  In Holland Santa Claus is called Sinter Klaas. Instead of elves to help Sinter Klaas, he has Black Piets.  Sinter Klaas and his Black Piets deliver their candy and gifts on December 5th.  Below you will see some fun games they played with the students.
The day Sinter Klaas and his Black Piets are to arrive with candy and gifts, the children fill their shoes with food for Sinter Klaas' horse and sing songs so that Sinter Klaas will hear them.
Pictured below is some of the festive food that is eaten during the holiday.
